Palo Alto, CA – December 17, 2008 – The Radicati Group, Inc.’s latest study, “Messaging & Collaboration – Business User Survey, 2008,” provides the results of an in-depth survey of corporate user behavior and attitudes with regards to messaging and collaboration technologies.

Based on the survey, respondents spend an average of 25% of their day sending and receiving email. On average, survey respondents send 38 email messages per day and receive 102 email messages per day, 17% of which contain attachments. This shows the continued importance of email in the corporate world, even in the face of other collaborative tools, such as business social networks, IM, web conferencing software, and others.

Overall, survey respondents felt that the amount of spam they receive is decreasing; only 16% of the total messages received is spam. This is encouraging news, as it suggests that anti-spam technologies are effectively keeping up with spammers through the latest filtering techniques, reducing the amount of spam that reaches end-users’ inboxes.
