Palo Alto, CA – September 29, 2008 – The Radicati Group, Inc.’s latest study, “Corporate IT Survey – Messaging and Collaboration, 2008-2009” looks at corporate IT deployment attitudes, usage, and procurement plans of 108 organizations worldwide. It includes organizations of all sizes, from SMBs with less than 100 users, to very large organizations with over 10,000 users. The main goal of the study was to understand current deployment practices, as well as future procurement directions.
Not surprisingly, Security was still the top IT priority for most organizations in 2008. Improving Messaging and Collaboration, and Reducing IT costs were the second and third priorities respectively.
Despite the growing popularity of SaaS models, the overwhelming majority of survey respondents (87%) were deploying on-premises messaging solutions, rather than Hosted Email solutions.
The survey found increasing interest for Unified Communications (UC), with 19% of respondent organizations indicating they are currently deploying a UC solution, and an additional 52% indicating they are considering deploying one in the near future.
