iPad Mania
By Radicati Team • Apr 5th, 2010 • Category: BlogThere has been quite a buzz within the tech community with articles and blog posts on Apple’s latest “game-changing” and “revolutionary” device, the iPad. The hype surrounding the iPad’s release has reached excessive levels in recent weeks. One popular tech blog has even included a feature that allows visitors to block all Apple iPad-related content, due to the nearly overwhelming coverage of the iPad. But is the attention the iPad is receiving warranted, or will the iPad struggle to find its target audience?
iPad Developers are creating iPad apps at a staggering rate, and there will be over 1,000 apps available for download before the tablet is even released to the public. These iPad-specific apps do not even include the 150,000+ apps that are already compatible with the iPad in the Apple App Store, and iPad users should expect nothing less than a spectacular experience once the iPad app market begins to mature. One developer has already created a 3D game, providing just a glimpse at the iPad’s powerful inner capabilities.
We believe that Apple is positioning the iPad much in the same way as they have positioned the iPod and iPhone, targeting nearly all markets. We see the iPad as a unique crossover device that has a great chance of wide adoption by users of all ages. It appeals to the younger generation with its Internet, and gaming capabilities. Older users will enjoy Apple’s well-known simplistic design as well as the iPad’s eBook features. The iPad has a great chance to be a huge hit with students of all ages. One university has already announced that an iPad will be given to every student who is enrolled. There will also be potential within the enterprise as the iPad could be used for mobilizing workers, training new employees, and much more. The bottom line is Apple has created a great device with an almost limitless audience and it is only a matter of time before the iPad is seen in every office, classroom, home, and coffee shop.
